Free scan-to-chat QR code

WhatsApp QR code generator

Create a QR code that opens a WhatsApp chat with you when scanned. Add a pre-filled message, pick your colors and download a PNG for screens or an SVG that stays sharp on flyers, menus, packaging and shop windows.

Include the country code. Spaces, dashes and a leading + are fine.

The visitor sees this text in WhatsApp and can edit it before sending. Nothing is sent automatically.

Colors

Enter a WhatsApp number to generate your QR code.

Scan it with your own phone before printing. SVG stays sharp at any size for flyers and signs.

Free, no sign-up. Generated in your browser; nothing you type is sent to MyChatWrap.

How does a WhatsApp QR code work?

The QR code contains a wa.me click-to-chat link. When someone scans it with their phone camera, WhatsApp opens a chat with your number and, if you added one, a pre-filled message they can edit and send. It is a static QR code: the link is stored in the code itself, so it never expires and doesn't depend on any third-party redirect.

Print-ready WhatsApp QR codes

Static, never expires

The chat link is encoded directly, with no redirect service that could go offline or start charging.

PNG and SVG downloads

PNG up to 1024 px for screens; vector SVG for print at any size.

Custom colors

Match your brand, with a contrast check that warns when a code may not scan.

Pre-filled message

Know which flyer, table or product the scan came from.

Number validation

Catch missing country codes and leading zeros before you print 500 copies.

No sign-up or watermark

Generate and download as many codes as you need.

Use your full international number with country code.

  3. 3. Download and test

Save PNG or SVG and scan it with your own phone before printing.

Where to put a WhatsApp QR code

Anywhere people have a phone in hand but can't click a link:

  • Restaurant tables and menus, for orders or reservations
  • Shop windows, counters and receipts
  • Business cards and flyers
  • Product packaging and delivery inserts for support
  • Event posters and conference badges
  • Slides and screens during talks or webinars

Tips for a code that always scans

Keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background. Inverted (light-on-dark) codes fail on many phone cameras. Leave the quiet margin around the code empty, and print it at least 2 Γ— 2 cm (about 0.8 inch), larger if people scan from a distance.

Shorter pre-filled messages make simpler, easier-to-scan codes. Always test the final printed proof with more than one phone.

Static vs dynamic QR codes

Dynamic QR services encode their own short link and redirect to WhatsApp, which lets them count scans but means the code stops working if the service shuts down or your subscription ends. The codes made here are static: the WhatsApp link itself is inside the code.

If you need scan counts, use a different pre-filled message per placement and count the conversations that arrive with each one.

What this tool does

  • Encodes a wa.me chat link as a QR code
  • Exports PNG (256–1024 px) and SVG
  • Warns about low-contrast or inverted colors
  • Validates the phone number format

What it can't do

  • Count scans; static codes have no tracking
  • Change the destination after printing; generate a new code instead
  • Confirm the number is registered on WhatsApp
