Double-text runs
Count each completed same-sender text run of two or more messages once, rather than counting every overlapping pair.

MyChatWrap counts a completed run of at least two consecutive text messages from the same sender inside one four-hour conversation window as one double-text run. A run of at least three also counts once as a triple-text run. A sender change, non-text entry or four-hour boundary ends the run. The metric describes message sequencing, not neediness, interest or relationship effort.
The preview renders the production double- and triple-text MetricCard components plus the production ReciprocitySection, all populated with a versioned fictional fixture.

Count each completed same-sender text run of two or more messages once, rather than counting every overlapping pair.
Count the same qualifying run once more when it reaches at least three consecutive text messages.
Record the greatest eligible same-sender text sequence, its sender, dates and first message link.
Compare exact counts and proportional shares for two-person chats or use group leaderboards for multiple members.
Read double texts beside conversation starts, questions and media instead of treating one behavior as a verdict.
Recompute double and triple runs independently inside populated weeks, months or years.
Open the chat information, choose Export chat and save the .txt or .zip. Without media is normally sufficient.
Drop the file above. Your browser processes entries chronologically and closes runs when their sender, type or conversation changes.
Review double and triple counts, the longest run, reciprocity bars and period history without assigning emotional meaning.
Two minutes on your phone. Choose your device, follow the taps, then come back and add the file above.
Watch the whole flow — export from WhatsApp, then drop the file into this app.
A run begins with an attributable text entry. Each following text from the same sender extends it while the entries remain inside the same conversation window. When the run ends, a length of at least two adds one double text and a length of at least three also adds one triple text.
A sequence of five messages therefore contributes one double-text run and one triple-text run—not four overlapping doubles and three overlapping triples. The longest-run record keeps all five messages as one sequence.
The four-hour conversation boundary is a documented MyChatWrap methodology rather than an official WhatsApp definition. Exactly four hours begins a new conversation and closes the previous run.
A different sender ends the current run. An entry that is not parsed as text also ends it, even when the same person sent that image, sticker, voice note or other media. Senderless system entries likewise interrupt text continuity.
Only attributable text entries can begin or extend a run. Deleted-message markers and media placeholders are not counted as text runs unless the parser represents their content as the text type.
The longest-run record stores the sender, count, first and last timestamps and first message identifier. Only a strictly larger run replaces it, so equal records keep the earlier sequence. Hall of Fame shows the record only when it reaches at least three messages.
Weekly, monthly and yearly history recomputes runs inside each populated bucket. A run cannot cross a period boundary in that view, so period totals can differ from an all-time run that spans midnight or a month change.
Several short messages can replace one long paragraph, separate ideas, correct a typo or accompany live planning. A run count cannot determine urgency, anxiety, interest, pressure or communication quality.
Compare sequencing with message volume and other actions, and avoid labels such as needy, clingy or desperate that the exported data cannot support.
MyChatWrap parses the exported chat and counts text runs in your browser. Message content, participant names and the filename are not sent to or stored on the MyChatWrap server, and no account is required.
