MyChatWrap compares two attributed participants across message volume, average and median reply time, conversation starts, last words, consecutive-message runs, media, links, words, emoji, questions and other exported signals. It also places starts, questions, double texts and media into one reciprocity view and can recompute metrics by week, month or year. The comparison describes one exported history; it cannot explain motives, feelings or relationship quality.
The previews below render the same MetricCard, ReciprocitySection and word/emoji cloud components used in the Overview dashboard. They use versioned fictional fixtures—not screenshots or invented UI—and keep exact values beside every visual comparison.
Three real Overview metric cards rendered with a fictional two-person export.
The Overview reciprocity component compares conversation starts, questions, double texts and media shares.
Reciprocity
Who does more of what — a balanced conversation isn't necessarily a 50/50 one

The real Overview cloud component renders recurring words and emoji from a versioned fictional fixture.
Group word cloud
The words that come up most across the whole group
Group emoji cloud
Every emoji the group has used, sized by frequency

Compare attributed reply gaps within the documented four-hour conversation window. Lower response-time values lead these cards.
Count the first attributable message after four hours and, separately, the sender before a following silence of at least eight hours.
View starts, questions, double texts and shared media together as proportional bars without combining them into one hidden score.
Compare word and emoji clouds, links, images, videos, GIFs, stickers, voice notes and view-once placeholders found in the export.
Recompute supported comparison metrics independently by week, month or year; empty periods are not inserted.
Open the two-person chat information, choose Export chat and save the .txt or .zip. Without media is normally enough for statistical comparison.
Drop the file above. Your browser parses the two attributed participants and calculates the comparison locally.
Start with exact counts, then compare shares, rates and period trends. Use several independent measures rather than declaring one overall winner.

Message, media, link, word, emoji and question metrics are attributed only when an exported entry has a sender. A message containing at least one question mark contributes one question event, while multiple URL matches in one message can contribute multiple links.
A reply time is the non-negative gap when a message immediately follows a different sender inside the same four-hour conversation window. Consecutive messages by one person are not replies. Average and median are both shown because long eligible gaps can pull the average upward.
A conversation start is credited after at least four hours of inactivity. A last word uses a separate eight-hour following silence. These are documented MyChatWrap boundaries, not official WhatsApp concepts.
MyChatWrap groups consecutive text messages from the same sender inside one four-hour conversation window. A completed run of at least two counts once as a double-text run, and a run of at least three also counts once as a triple-text run.
The values count qualifying runs, not every possible pair inside a long sequence. Media or a sender change ends a text run, and a four-hour boundary starts a new one.
Different cards answer different questions. Sending more messages, replying faster, asking more questions and sharing more media are independent patterns and need not point to the same participant.
A 50/50 split is not a requirement for a balanced relationship. Schedules, roles, message style and missing history can change every metric, while calls and in-person interaction are absent from the export.
For supported cards, the history view groups messages by calendar week, month or year and runs the same analytics engine separately on each populated bucket. It does not simply divide the all-time total.
Sparse periods are omitted rather than filled with zero. A trend can describe change inside the chosen export but cannot establish why behavior changed or what happened outside WhatsApp.
MyChatWrap parses the export and calculates the side-by-side metrics in your browser. Message text, participant names and the filename are not sent to or stored on the MyChatWrap server, and no account is required. Saved screenshots still contain private communication patterns, so review them before sharing.
