A text message counts once when it contains a whole-word, case-insensitive stretched variant of sorry, apology, apologies, apologize or apologise. For example, “sooorrryyyy” can match. A matching message adds one to its sender even if several supported words appear. The rule detects wording, not sincerity, context or responsibility.
The preview uses the same Overview participant MetricCard with fictional totals and explains the evidence boundary.

The current English list is sorry, apology, apologies, apologize and apologise. Repeated letters are handled leniently, and whole-word boundaries reduce matches inside unrelated longer words.
The counter is message-based: one matching message increments the sender once even if it contains several apology terms.
Quoted text, jokes, “no need to apologize,” sarcasm and discussion about apologies can match the same way as a direct apology. The rule does not parse who is being addressed or whether harm occurred.
Use the result as a phrase signal and inspect available snippets before drawing any contextual conclusion.
Participant totals remain exact for the parsed export. The optional evidence sheet stores only the first 300 matches and caps each snippet at 300 string units to bound local rendering and serialization.
A capped evidence list therefore should not be manually recounted as the complete total in very large chats.
The current analytics rule uses English apology vocabulary, including US and UK spellings. Translated apology words are not part of this page’s verified rule yet.
That limitation is why this acquisition page is English-only until localized phrase sets are implemented and tested.
Standard import and deterministic analysis run in your browser. MyChatWrap does not connect to your WhatsApp account or store raw message content on its server. The selected import remains in that browser’s local app database until you remove it.
