What counts as a WhatsApp chat streak?
A WhatsApp chat streak is a run of consecutive calendar days with at least one participant message on every day. MyChatWrap calculates the longest run in the exported history and repeats the calculation for each participant. Multiple messages on one date still count as one active day. The app's current streak is the run ending on the export's last active day—not necessarily a streak continuing through today.

Streak at the last message
Review the uninterrupted run ending on the export's last active date. This historical value does not claim the chat is still active today.
Participant streaks
Calculate each person's best run using only dates when that participant sent at least one attributable message.
Active and busiest days
Count distinct active dates and identify the date with the greatest number of messages in the uploaded history.
Longest silence
Find the largest gap between adjacent messages, when it began and ended, and whose message broke the silence.
Biggest comeback
After at least 24 hours of silence, measure the busiest qualifying ten-minute return window and how many people joined it.

How the streak is calculated
MyChatWrap turns participant activity into UTC date keys, removes duplicate dates and sorts them from oldest to newest. A run continues when the next active date is exactly one calendar day later; otherwise a new streak begins. One active date produces a one-day streak.
The same calculation runs for the whole conversation and separately for every participant. The trailing streak is anchored to the final active date in the file, while the longest streak keeps the earlier run when two records have the same length.
WhatsApp text exports do not contain an authoritative timezone. The exported wall-clock time is interpreted using the analyzing device's local timezone and date analytics then use UTC, so messages close to midnight can appear on a neighboring UTC date.
Silences and comeback windows
The longest silence is the largest elapsed-time gap between adjacent messages. The silence timeline separately tracks gaps lasting at least 24 hours and summarizes their count, average duration and monthly totals.
A comeback begins with the message that follows at least 24 hours of silence. MyChatWrap counts that message and all following messages in the next ten minutes. The window needs at least three messages to qualify, and the highest message count wins.
Read a streak as activity, not intent
A streak can show that a conversation appeared on many consecutive dates. It cannot explain why people messaged, why a quiet period occurred or whether the relationship is close, healthy or likely to continue.
The result covers only the selected export. Deleted messages, missing history, calls, reactions and activity in other conversations are outside the calculation.

- A live streak after the export's last message.
- History that was deleted, omitted or outside the exported date range.
